This workshop features discussion of techiques
for using the American Sign Language literary structures in creative
environments for equivalence with English language literary structures,
such as rhyming in ASL, Single handshape poems, Fingerspelling shape
poems, 123 Stories, and Change of Perspective.
Participants will learn a variety of different
American Sign Language literary structures and in small groups or individually
be able to create their own short literary piece using each structure.
Then, in small groups
or individually, the participants will attempt to create their own stories
or poems using the same forms.
